Mola Sasa

EVERYTHING I WANT stands for the ripple effect as a principle of evolution: the more the conscious creators work to benefit the world around them, the better the world becomes. Our collaborations are deeply informed by individual visions, natural resources, and their impact on the world around them.

A collaboration with Mola Sasa was therefore one that made perfect sense for us, given our alignment and coherence around mission and values. We are excited to work with founder Yasmin Sabet and her team. Nadja notes: "I discovered Guna textiles years ago while shooting a movie in Panama with Harmony Korine and Werner Herzog. It’s a privilege to work with Yasmeen Sabet the founder of Mola Sasa. Both a talented designer and agent of positive change who supports indigenous communities.".

Mola Sasa collaborates directly with various indigenous communities of Colombia to translate their own traditional art forms and crafts into unparalleled accessory collections defined by a distinctive blending of techniques, colours, textures, and materials. Whether offering appliqué textiles, jewellery or weaving from the Kuna community, the Chimichauga people, the Kanukamo or the Zenú.

Responsibility is at the core of Mola Sasa. Abiding by the standards of traditional craft, Mola Sasa works hand in hand with Colombian artisans and breathes new life into their techniques and native natural resources. Some of the techniques and communities they work with are as follows;

Kuna Textiles: Kuna indigenous communities of Caiman Alto, Colombia and Anima;
Chimichagua: Afro communities of the coastal region of Cesar, Colombia
Maguey or Fique: Kankuamo indigenous communities of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia;
Cana Flèche: Zeni indigenous communities and Afro communities of Tuchin, Colombia.

Mola Sasa honour and empower local artisans through action. They have created sustainable employment for more than 80 families and continue to expand their mission and ensure lasting social change within these communities.  Families are seen as strategic allies that share both their traditional skills and their personal experiences, both of which are reflected in every collection.

EVERYTHING I WANT brings you these unique handcrafted pieces which infuse the perfect amount of freshness and sophistication into the wardrobe of the contemporary woman. Each Mola Sasa piece evokes a sense of discovery and provides traces of a journey to the world of Colombian ancient tribes, their land, their culture.

We are currently working with Yasmin and the team on an exciting and exclusive collaboration, inspired by Venice and Burano Lace. Stay tuned for more.
